Hi,
I'm looking for a 1tb drive to store my music on. My main aim is to find a quiet drive; as ambient computer noise really annoys me and the drive will likely be on 24/7.
I don't have the budget to go with a SSD plus the reviews on the SSHDs led me to believe they weren't yet reliable.

The most popular on amazon seem to be:
Transcend 1TB
Seagate Expansion 1TB
WD Portable 1TB

I haven't been able to find any information on the comparable noise levels between those three.
Could someone help me pick? It's going to be mainly for music, but playing video off of it would be nice (not at expense of it remaining quiet though)

thanks, R

I use a laptop Hdd into a USB3 case, no fans no vibrations to speak off, no noise... it sits on my desk nice and quiet ready to be used, laptop drives will go to idle mode, so its not spinning on and on and on all the time.

I use a WD 2.5" 1TB Black Drive slipped into a single USB cable (no power cable needed) enclosure. its nice, portable and can use it on desktop or laptop
I use another one just like it for my monthly backups of my home systems ,m go from PC to pc and back them up.. easy peasy
I cannot attest in the ones you listed, but mine does maybe 2db of noise and vibrations.
