Question R5 3600 only boosting 3.9

Just wondering if there is a way to get a 3600 to advertised speeds. im running on ryzen high performance power plan and have not done anything but enable pbo 24/7 my specs are : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YxXgwh . I idle at around 40 ish and under stress tests around 75.

You are getting advertised speeds. AMD claims MAX boost speed UP TO 4.2, not that it will hit 4.2.

Mine did that too but I had absolutely no problems running anything with it. Overclock if you want more speed. Even then there's no sure thing. It might not even hit 4.0GHz.

i have a Ryzen 3600 No OC & stock cooler

in idle my cpu goes up to 4.1Ghz and 4.2Ghz 1 core but in a stress test i am only hitting 3.925Ghz max

i think its normal but if u really want the 4.2Ghz u can do a OC

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 since day one (July 2019), with the stock cooler, I got 4192MHz (4.2GHz) on 1 core and between 3800MHz and 4000MHz on all core loads, depending on the workload (the lowest number represent AVX workloads).

When I switched to the DeepCool Gammax GTE I could get the same 4.2GHz on 1 core work and between 3875~4075MHz on all core workloads but with better temps.

Your temps looks fine, keep in mind that some motherboards boost better than others (probably cause of better BIOS optimization).
