Ok I know that this question is so frequent but now I have r5 3600 on b450 tomahawk max and two ram sticks of 8gb (16gb) on 3000mhz cl15, and Arctic freezer esport 34 duo, gtx 1060 G1 gaming ( in future planing to upgrade to RTX 3070)... But in meantime the prices of i5 10600 or 10500 in my country is like in US and drop down... thats why I need someone to tell me what is best:

  1. Wait to arrived new zen3 and if its beast (like rumours fly's through internet space) sell my r5 3600 and buy r5 5600/x (it will be around 100USD to spend more)
  2. Sell my r5 3600 and b450 tomahawk MAX and go with i5 10600 non K and b460 mortar board (it will be 75usd to spedn more);
  3. Sell my r5 3600 and b450 tomahawk MAX and go with i5 10500 with b460 mortar board; (it will be 60usd to spend more)
  4. This one is like most expensive one but if I gain 20-30 % more performance in comparison of up 3 cases, then to go with i5 10600k with MSI Z490-A PRO (it will be 140USD to spend more)
If someone have better combos-value then I will be happy yo share with me. Thanks XD

At 1080p 240Hz you are far more likely to be limited by the 3600. If running 1440p 144Hz it would have been a very good match. I expect at 1080p you will want to upgrade to a 5600x/5800x as they should be among the best gaming CPU’s available and from January there should be BIOS updates allowing them to run on your motherboard.
Then best option is option number 1 from my thread and that's: wait zen3 and in January when beta bios is done for b450 tomahawk max go with r5 5600x jup maybe I will have bigger budget till January and can go with 5800x but first I want to see some reviews from zen3... oook I will wait xD thanks people for your opinion xD

Theres no reason to upgrade atleast not from 3600 to 5600/x if you decide that you want more than 6 cores then you can consider upgrading hopefully atleast 8core, 10 and 12core arrent obsolete if you want to be a extreme gamer for a long time.

What resolution and Hz are you gaming at? Why do you think you need to upgrade from a 3600?

Assuming you do upgrade the information about the 5600x indicates it should equal or beat the best Intel CPU’s for gaming. With the IPC and clockspeed improvements of the 5600x I actually won’t be surprised if it is this good or very close.

ok because I sow some videos when rtx 3080 bottleneck with r5 3600 and on i5 10600k overclocked on 5.1 ghz its like 30-40 fps more then r5 3600/x, that's why I ask whats will be the difference between this cpus I mentioned in the thread, and ask for best price value performance, how I write up in my thread Iam planing to buy RTX 2070.... thanks for replying xD

I also think is best to wait and see how will perform r5 5600x if its better then i5 10600k in fps then I will go with it xD

The reason is you are not upgrading by any means you are just paying extra for clock speed and ipc but the cores are same so if you plan on getting 3080 then for flagship gpu balance it with a good cpu too and you don't exactly need to upgrade from 3600 unless high refresh rate , higher screen resolution and ultra wide is your thing and you can do that with 3600 too. Yes 2070 would be good.

sorry not 2070 I meant rtx 3070 my bad sorry... and like you say, like I understand, you want to say that I will have same FPS 1080p either with r5 3600 and new one r5 5600x paired with rtx 3070?

There is a big difference between the 3070 and 2070. What resolution and Hz is your monitor?

You will get more fps on that however not worth the effort for swapping parts and energy, if +144hz, ultra wide screen or both is a thing for you with high texture then yes 3070 will help or else imo overkill. If you plan on swapping cpu next time get atleast 8 cores in mind that will be a significant upgrade.

last one bro, btw thanks allot for helping me, just to finish the thread. If I stay with r5 3600 and rtx 3070 I'll be good or need 8 cores i7 or new zen3 8 core cpu? because I want if I buy rtx 3070 want to squeeze maximum from her fps, I have 240hz monitor btw. thanks alot one more xD

No shouldn't be an issue and it will also enable ray tracing for you
