Hello, I have a i5-650 and intel hd integrated graphics cards. even though the cpu is a decent one, with intel hd, I get really bad fps in most games. I wanted to upgrade my gpu to a MSI R7 250, but I have a 240w PSU, is it enough to handle this card?

Solution
Only if the 240W is the total 12v power (not combined with 3.3 & 5v) it will probably work. But in all seriousness its not going to be stable for long, the PSU will be running on very high load and the capacitors age fast with heat. Basing your knowledge on youtube videos is really counterproductive and missleading most of the times.

It will consume under 50W and it *might* work, but i am totally against using it for a 240W PSU (indifferent of its brand) as it will surely overload it. You need a new PSU to add ANY dedicated GPU.
