I just finished building a new system and I'm having some problems with the graphics card (Sapphire R7 260X). The first time Windows loaded everything looked good I think (plugged in via HDMI port), but after loading the drivers for the graphics card the picture got fuzzy and has a glow around sharp edges. It's most noticeable with text and the mouse cursor. I struggled with this for a long time and tried a lot of settings in Catalyst Control Center to no avail. I tried pixel format, oversampling, 3D settings etc without any luck.
Then what I tried was to connect to the DVI port via a DVI to HDMI adapter. With that, everything looked perfect! So I decided to go ahead and update to the latest drivers (I think the CD had 12ish and current is 14ish). Nope, that made the problem show up both on HDMI and DVI->HDMI. So I uninstalled the drivers and now it works ok on DVI to HDMI adapter, but still looks bad directly from HDMI. It may have before the first driver install and I just didn't notice.
One thing I did notice is that without the drivers installed the monitor reports "DVI" when through the DVI adapter, but when the driver is updated it reports "HDMI" and looks bad.

What should I do to fix this? Do I need to RMA my graphics card? Do I even need the drivers (like to play video games for example)?
I appreciate any help you can give on this. Obviously if I need to RMA it then I will need to do so quickly. I plan to try hooking it up to my HDTV in the living room as a test this afternoon.
