R7 260x screen flickering on Crimson 15.7.1

I just bought my new gpu today and after installing the screen was flickering, was playing bf3 for a while and sisnt notice it but when back to desktop the screen was flickering around the edges near the windows logo. I am on the latest Radeon Crimson Software 15.7.1, and my current specs are

Windows 8.1 Update 1
Asus m5a78l m le
Athlon II x2 260
Hyperx fury 4gb 1866(@1333mhz)+2gb kingston generic 1333
Wd caviar black 500gb
And Corsair CX 430w
Sapphire r7 260x OC

And monitor is a old crt from 2007.

My card had a vga port so plugged the monitor into vga.
And my new cpu would be fx 4300 and new mobo ga-78lmt-usb3 along with a 4gb ram stick, which are yet to be delivered. Now anu solutions? Monitor refresh rate is at 85 and changing it doesnt help.

My bad, i downloaded the latest version. And now I have downloaded the 15.7 version, can I install it?

this are the latest driver from amd for your gpu link to 32 bits os http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+8.1+-+32 and lower the refresh to 60 if you dont have a 144 hz monitor .

the problem was with my old monitor. with my 32" led Tv it was working fine without flicker

the old monitor it is a crt and it must not have same resolution that the 32 inch tv have for the screen so if you use both of them in the same time try to set tv to receive max resolution the old crt could handle and check picture .
