So my little brother's birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him a new GPU, he already has two R7 265's in crossfire, I wanted to get him an R9 390 8gb, will the 390 be a big enough improvement to justify getting him a new card?
Hi, i would personally go with an R9 390, just because, in most cases, having 1 powerful gpu is better than having 2 low-spec gpus in XFire. The ram will be 2x as much so a definite 390 id say

I've looked at benchmarks and the 4gb version doesn't do much worse than the 8gb, is it games with big worlds that I'm going to see the main difference with the 8gb?

Yes but it is also down to multi monitor gaming, 8gb is great for gaming across all 3 monitors, if you have 3 monitors lol!!
