My friend is building a budget gaming PC and wants to know approximately what framerates he would get at max settings 1080p on LoL. I know every part in his PC (i chose) besides the graphics card.

-Intel Core i3-4370
-8GB DDR3-1600 (2x4GB)
-Either R9 280 or R7 370

Thanks for helping and should he get a 370 or a 280?? The 280 is $150 and if he gets a 370, he can get the $135 2GB version or the $150 4GB version. Which out of those three is the best for him?

My GTX 650 TI maxes out LoL at 1080 capped at 60 FPS with the GPU barely reaching 60% load. When I remove the 60 fps cap I get around 100-120 fps. And my GTX 650 TI is a more or less equal to a R7 260. Anything over that will let you play at 144+ fps which is a nice combo with a 144 MHz monitor. A r9 280 for 150 sounds like a nice deal. Over here in Europe, the R9 280 is close to 200 EUR (225 USD).

Anyway, the R9 370 is not released yet, don't even know where you got those prices from. But since the 370 will be a rebranded 280 with some tweaks and without a price as of yet - at least it is worth it if he waits 2 weeks. Either the 370 will be worth the price premium over 280 or the new 300 generation will drive the 200 generation...

Thanks

they announced the price and its a rebrand of r7 265, crap card to get if you ask me, better go with r9 270

The price will not be known until it hits retailers. AMD only can give a recommended price, but the final price is defined by the retailer.

I don't know where you get your information from, but, The R9 370 is a not a rebrand of 265.

I hate to disappoint you, but the R7 370 has now been reviewed and it is a refreshed R7265/R9270.
The R7 370 is actually less powerful than the R9 270X. The R9 280 is noticably more powerful than the R7 370.

However if the most demanding game they want to play is LOL, then an R7 370 is easily good enough.

Also in case you are curious, its the R9 285 that has become the R9 380.
The rest of Shneiky's info is good though. You only need an R7 260X or 750ti for LOL.
