R9 270 No video Input

everything is plugged in okay ... my gpu has a green LED indicator that i believe shows that its alright but i tested one other gpu - GTX 460- and it works perfectly fine..
The problem goes like this-
whenever i try to boot with the r9 270 plugged in via DVI my screen remains black and it says no video input going to sleep or smth like that.
Yeah.. cool !

2| Since you're moving from a GTX460(Nvidia) to an R9-270(AMD) have you used DDU to uninstall your previous drivers before dropping in your new GPU?

3| Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date?
