r9 270x 4gb driver problems?

Put together my new pc last night, this is not my first build, but my first in a while.

All is going well until I go to install the latest drivers for my graphics card, which is a sapphire r9 270x 4gb. Install starts fine and gets about halfway then the screen goes blank, I let it sit for 20 mins at one point and nothing happened. Ive been looking online for other people having the same or similar problems. I had trouble with my netgear network adaptor software at first also, but sorted that out.

Im about ready to send my graphics card back to get a new one, but id rather not as that would take another week. I did have a thought that maybe its the amd/intel thing clashing?

8gb Kingston ddr3 (2x4gb)
Sapphire r9 270x 4gb
Seagate 1tb hdd
I5 4670k

Still having issues with this, its driving me nuts.

Ive done fresh installs of windows, ive tried installing drivers from the disc supplied, my bios is up to date, ive reset the cmos and the install still makes my screen go blank. No bsod, just a blank screen and the pc doesnt boot.

Ive tried installing then rebooting after the blank screen and it boots to the windows animation then all lights on my keyboard and mouse turn off also. Ive tried driver removers and programs that check for new drivers with no luck.

The video card shows up in device manager but wont display anything unless in safe mode after an attempted install.

At one point I had an error code 19 after an install as well.

Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.
