I was wondering if a r9 270x would be able to work stabily on a corsair 430 watt psu as it is still a relatively new psu and I don't feel like replacing it yet. I would get a 280x bit I figure that would definitely take too much power. If it means anything I was thinking of getting the powercolor one since it's really cheap with it's MIR and comes pre-OC'd. My cpu is a 100 watt one so is there any power chart or benchmarks which could give me some peace of mind

Cheapest, shortest GTX 960 that performs just as well as the other ones.

Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card ($199.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $199.99

Cx430 v1 or 2 mate ??

V1 has 29a 12v - will run OK but close to the edge
V2 has 32a 12v - absolutely no problems at all IMO

Disabling the igp (which will happen automatically) drops 12w off the tdp of the chip for starters.

Either way you will need a molex to 6 pin adapter - both cx430's only have a single pci-express power cable.

nah, go for better psu, and a r9 280, then oc that gpu for great performance at 1080p

That's a good point, I totally forgot that the gtx 960 would work well for this kind of system. (Just don't buy the gigabyte G1 versions, they take a lot of power.)

But I still think a better PSU will be good.

well will work but on the limits of the PSU , so buy a corsair vs550 PSU

Very good point's everyone is making but there is no way I would buy a new PSU when I already have a PSU which is only a few months old (I believe it is the v2) just to be able to buy a slight upgrade when I could just buy the gtx 960 for prices like that and it would probably preform better. I was an idiot for thinking I could get away with a 430 watt PSU when I made this computer and I should have figured I would need some extra power. I'll most likely buy the r9 270 non-x but out of curiosity is there any nvidea alternatives that might cost slightly less then the 960 but are still similar to the 270.

Would the gtx 960 bottleneck my CPU a bit? Also someone said something about not buying the gigabyte G1 versions. Which ones are those as looking at the two cheapest ones they are both gigabyte and the only difference I can see between the two are the fans one having two fans and one of them only having 1 fan. Finally as a last question can anyone confirm the validity of powercolor MIR's as I have had bad experiences with them in the past but I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks if it is at all possible.
