So here are my specs to start:

i7 930 @ 2.8Ghz
PowerColor TurboDuo r9 270x
8GB DDR3 1333
500W PSU

So basically i've tested on GTA and no matter what i do my FPS is very low on medium-ish settings. I've seen others with my card have similar issues on GTA only, however most people run the game nearly maxed out perfectly fine.

Other games run fine, it just seems that GTA has a bone to pick with me.

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions :)

A CPU bottleneck is possible, I got a fair bit of stuttering and drops to 40 FPS or so in busier areas running my Core i5 760 at the stock speed of 2.8GHz. Overclocking to 3.5GHz helped a fair bit in keeping my framerate at 60 or above.

Make sure you don't have a web browser open in the background, apparently having any flash stuff open can cause issues with GTA V. If you don't have the latest Catalyst 15.4 driver, get it, as it has optimizations for GTA V.

You should be able to run it on high with that gpu + your cpu overclocked.

Install msi afterburner and check gpu/cpu temps while you game.

You are probably heat throttling.

I had AA on with medium settings but now i turned it off and put the rest on high/very high and it runs smoothly. Don't understand why you have to try and be condescending on random shit lol.
