So I have 2 r9 270x both from the same company. One day I decided to test both cards. What I found out is that 1 of the card is running significantly slower than the other card. I don't know if this is normal but with the same clock speed the slower card is at least 3-4 fps behind in Tomb raider. In firestrike I get an average of like 5600 on the slower card while the faster card is around 5950. Same with 3dmark 11 where the slower card is 500 points below the faster card barely reaching 8000. I get similar score if i overclock the slower card to 1190 from 1080. My question is: are these score normal for the slower card because I am selling the card and I don't want any returns because the card is faulty. I mean it runs fine but the fps different is a bit wide considering they are the same card. Btw they are powercolor r9 270x OC edition.

As Calnin said, make sure you're using 2 PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots, maybe try switching the cards around see if that changes anything. It could also be a heat issue, with the bottom one exerting heat upwards into the fans of the top one. What case/fans/cooling system are you using?

yes and the performance range differs in different games but for the most part the slower one is a little bit behind. in the middle of an r9 270 and 270x. I just want to know if it is faulty, not to sure.

I'm using the same pcei slot. And I don't run xfire that is the reason why I'm selling one of the cards. It is just the difference in scores in 3dmark that worries me. The card top at 69 degrees, and I see no down clocking or throttling. I know different cards run differently but the difference shouldn't be 500pts on 3dmark11 and around 100 on firestrike extreme and 300 on normal firestrike. It is unusual.

What I found out is that my my slower card have a much higher asic score or whatever it is call, this explain the much better overclocking ability. Also eventhough the scores are lower on the slower card. In game feels almost the same and it also feels like the slower card runs cooler and quieter. Idk what the heck is the problem but as long as gameplay fps is almost identical I'm fine. It is just the score between the 2 is just too much. the slower card feels like a slightly overclock r9 270 and not the 270x. I just find it funny that both cards are identical in term of manufacturing but one runs quieter and cooler while the other runs faster but louder and a little bit hotter like 1-2 degrees. I also find it funny that at 1190mhz I get the same temperature as 1080.
