Hello everyone!

I'm trying to find if my R9 280 is faulty, sometimes in DXDIAG the total memory shows 2 GB and sometimes 4GB, as I know the R9 280 is 3GB card one.

Heres what i'm saying:

Another of my causes to suspect the R9 280 is faulty is as I play L4D2 or League Of Legends with VSync ON sometimes it drops a little. In League Of Legends drops to 57 FPS sometimes with all settings maxed out and in L4D2 with VSync Double Buff it drops to 40 sometimes.

Is it normal in this card? Is it faulty?

Thank you

DXDIAG usualy shows more memory because it includes a part of the system memory that can be used by the GPU. With my 2 GB card it shows 3826 MB total memory. Also it is normal for the framerate to fall when using vsync with any GPU.

In low end games too? Like League of Legends and L4D2? Which are games were released long time ago. I know the VSync usually drops some rates but I didn't expect that in low end games. Double buffered as I know hits the perfomance more than Triple buff, because I remember I played L4D2 with Double Buff ON and didn't have that problem, but now I have.

Dxdiag does the same thing for my Crossfire setup. Both of my cards are 1 GB cards.

As for the frame rate drops, is the game loading anything during those drops? Also, just out of curiosity, what are the rest of your computer's specs?

I'm inside the game not in loading path, but I suspect that happens when I loads some action.

I'll give you the specs, but one thing I will say after someone judge, I have 2 different branded RAM's I know it could cause perfomance issues but I don't think that's the prob here.

CPU - I5 4430S 2.7Ghz
RAM - 8GB
GPU - R9 280
PSU - XFX 750w
