R9 280 or GTX 770 with AMD FX8120??

Hi, i currently have a Radeon HD 7850 and was thinking of upgrading.

im currently running a amd fx 8120 8 core processor and was wondering what graphics card would be best for me the gtx770 or the radeon r9 280x

will my cpu make a difference to the cards performance at all? or cause a bottleneck for any of the cards?

They perform very similarly, it really depends on what game you want to play, here's some benchmarks to help you.

If 280X is the way cheaper then go for 280X otherwise GTX-770!

R9 280x wins by about 5%.Since preformance is very close, I would go with the cheaper one.

Does your mobo handle sli or crossfire or both? You may want to add another card down the road, make sure you can.

Are you willing to work with the cooling issues with the 280? It's no secret the card runs hot.

Price: both cards are similar in performance so price can make all the difference.

Monitors: are you willing to shell out extra money for the 4gb version of the 770 for triple monitor gaming?

280x does not actually run that hot please look at the benchmarks above thank you, it is cooler and same noise as the 770 if you get a decent 280x.
