r9 280 or r9 285 ?

can u suggest me which 1 is better as they are available for same price

looking at the memory .. its for dual monitor set up .. r9 280 has 3gb and r9 285 have 2gb

It's more energy efficient but is it better? I think with 3GB memory the R9 280x will perform better in games. He can get it for a comparable price.
