I have a r9 280 Dual-x sapphire. Stock clocks sit at 940Mhz core and 1250Mhz memory clock. What would be a safe overclock without touching voltages? would this give me an fps boost and is it even worth it or safe?

Solution
Overclocking a 280 will take up a lot of power, you'll need at least a GOOD 600w to even start overclocking. We can't exactly tell you what a safe overclock is because all parts overclocking differently. You'll just have to up the Memory by 20 and the Core by 10 and run benchmarks tests to see if it's stable

I have the Sapphire Dual-X R9 280 and I am stable at 1150 Mhz core clock and 1500Mhz memory clock. I raised the power limit to 20%, but did not adjust voltage. It gave me a significant FPS boost (10-15) and hardly affected temperatures.

Your mileage may vary.
