Hello, So recently when I have been playing games (specifically Overwatch) my PC crashes after 2 or 3 matches. After it crashes I went a felt my power supply, it was a lot hotter than usually. This isn't a one time occurrence it has happened but only when under load. I have a 280X, a 500B Power Supply, and an AMD FX-6300. I was just wondering what the problem was. Is it that I don't have enough wattage? I have checked the CPU temperatures and they seem perfectly fine when under load. Also when it shuts down the LED's and all of the lights stay on, and the fans stay on, just everything else shuts down. Thanks for your time! - Evan

I have to disagree. It should be sufficient, assuming there is no extreme overclock. EVen with small overclocks on the CPU and GPU, the system should be handled by the PSU.

I think the model is the EVGA 500B. At least that's what assumption I am making right now...

Its an EVGA 500 B, I play on getting a 750W EVGA. I'm assuming that will be plenty?

Yes, more than enough.
Your 500B is a solid budget unit*, but as the over temp condition indicates, it is evidently running beyond its 80% efficiency range when stressed. The 250W card and the 95W cpu maxed out gaming may be taking their toll on the unit.

Thank you for your help! I will be hopefully purchasing that 750 Watt soon!

Which one? Some are not very good. Also, it'd be more ideal to purchase one of EVGA's quality 550W PSUs instead.
