Hello everyone,
recently put 2 R9 280x's in crossfire, I assumed the top card would be hotter than the lower card but I didn't think it would be 23 degrees (Celsius) warmer, I've been playing Metro: last light for about an hour and I noticed it was getting a little hot, main card peaked at 86 degrees on the thermal diode, 110 on the core and 103 on Vram, second card very similar but 63 on diode, 86 on core and 88 on vram, now I guess I have the setting maxed out on Metro, but since I have stopped playing I'm getting a sort of flicker when not under load, its like my screen jumps up than back down and has got me worried I may have damaged my cards? now it happens sporadically and never the same intervals in between the flickers, any ideas?? Thanks!

EDIT: I have 2 fans in the front, one in the bottom blowing in and 2 on top for my Radiator and one on the back blowing out

take a case fan and point it between the two cards like this
see where the fan is pointed between the cards do that

My case doesn't have a spot to put fans right there? Thermaltake Core V41.... though I was thinking of making one, but kinda wanted to avoid making a hole in my new case xD.... and my screen is still flickering?

Yeah I've been pulling the door off but it makes very little to no difference becasue I already have good circulation in my case.... do you have any ideas why my screen is flickering?

the flicking is happening out of game on idle... on facebook.... lol
flcikering doesnt happen in game under load only out of game when im not doing much of anything...

LOL I cut the case open! Just have to get some mesh to put in front of the fan to prevent some dirt build up, drill for the 4 mounting holes. Was going to drill a bunch more holes but just wasn't giving enough airflow, hot soldering iron worked great for cutting out the hole out and keeping it decent looking 😛, used a 120mm fan to draw on the out with little scratches on the pastic, just followed along with the hot iron and it worked well, temps max at 77 degrees with the core 😀 very pleased, glad I did it :), OHHH and I put the second card to my Primary and the flickering is gone!!! Thx buddy!
