R9 280X or R9 380

Hi i am building a pc for my brother with a i5 4460 and a seasonic s12 520 WATT bronze certified so which will be a better graphics card ? i was leaning towards the 380 for the 4gb of ram so what should i get ? btw both cards are the same price

The 380 is about 1 tier better than the 280x, which may not be noticeable in a real world scenario, but given that they have the same price, go with the 380 as it will be more "future proof"(more memory, DX12 support), and also be more efficient.

It should be fine. Seasonic is one of the best PSU makers out there.

380 over 280x. But to throw a wrench in your plan, and help you get even better, get a GTX960 for gaming. Its better than the 380 for gaming, uses less power and runs cooler. You can get it in a 2GB or 4GB version just like the 380, and the drivers are more stable. Honestly its a no brainer, for me anyway, or if you're not married to AMD for some reason.
