Hey guys, Im looking for a recommended overclock for my MSI R9 280x. I will stress test any suggested OCs for 2-3 hours each.

Thanks!

Hi,
The R9 280X is already an overclocked 7970 so don't expect very high overclocking

Try overclocking the GPU Clock by increments of 10Mhz and the Memory Clock by increments of 50Mhz and leave the voltage on stock.
Run Valley Benchmark to see if the GPU runs ok.
-If the Valley Benchmarks passes, increase the GPUClock and Memory Clock again with 10Mhz for GPU Clock and 50Mhz for Memory Clock.
-If the Valley Benchmarks fails, increase voltage by increments of 0.010Mv.
- If the Valley Benchmark passes with increased voltage, then proceed with increasing the GPU Clock and Memory Clocks as suggested above.
-If the Valley Benchmark fails or you see any artifacts with the increased Voltage,Memory and GPU Clock...

-If the Valley Benchmark fails or you see any artifacts with the increased Voltage,Memory and GPU Clock then you might have reached the GPUs limit.

Mind you, this in an example i do on my GPUs, every GPU varies it may overclock very high or very low. You will have to find the right balance between GPU Clock, Memory Clock and Voltage.
