Hey guys,

I am currently playing around with GPU overclocking using MSI Afterburner.
While stresstesting with Geeks3D FurMark v1.20.4.0 I noticed periodic coreclock drops.
My System:
GPU: Powercolor R9 280X with a basecoreclock of 1030MHz and a basememoryclock of 1500MHz
CPU: AMD FX-8350 not overclocked
Mainboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 10

What could be causing the drops and is it serious? I've not tested the stability in games yet.

The coreclockspeed in the screenshot was 1150MHz

I've set the fan speed to automatic in MSI Afterburner.
70°C => 70%
80°C => 80%
more than 90°C => 100%
Should I raise the curve?

Update:
I raised the fancurve to 80°C => 90%.
I am at 1130MHz now and still got no drops after 10 minutes. Seems like the solution is simple as that:) thank you
