Hi,

I'm looking to build my first PC over the coming weeks and have decided that the R9 280x would be a great graphics card.

I now have to decide if the R9 280x Toxic (£270) is worth spending £70 more on compared to buying the VTX3D R9 280x (£200).

I will mainly be playing BF4 at 2560x1440 and using an FX 8350.

Being new to this I have used these forums and articles extensively so am sure you will provide me with good advice!

Thanks

There will be really not that much big of a difference in the performance, just a little clock higher or so but that's it. Just to ease your decision get the sapphire toxic r9 280x. Cheers :)

are you in the UK or US ?

I'm in the UK. Are used cards from ebay generally in good condition? Would it not be safer to spend that extra £70 for a new card?

The prices in my original post are new from Amazon.

Thanks for your answers

I suggest get a new card, you don't know what the graphic card have been through and what configuration it have been run. I mean you don't know what constant running on hot temp due to some poor supply has done to that card and what has been damaged in it and he is just trying to sell it so he could get a new good condition one. All in all you can never trust a old product.

Thanks Goku.

So in this case you would suggest spending the extra £70 for the Sapphire Toxic over any other model?
