R9 290 alternative

I have done research on the r9 390 and it appears to be a well performing graphics card. However i find it quite expensive. 429.99 on newegg canada. Is there any other graphics card that is cheaper that performs at a similar level.

Thats the usual price of a 390, the 970 also costs around the same, if you want to get something cheaper then you'll need to step down a bit and get either a R9 380 or a GTX 960.
