r9 290 black screen

hello everybody today i turned my computer on and it booted normally until i enterd windows then it went into black screen and stuck, but my other screen (that is connected to the motherboard was still on). so i figured its just a gpu problem, so to fix it i switched my gpu into quiet mode (i have a gigabyte windforce r9 290) and i booted normally, so i put it back into uber mode and suddenly it worked just fine, but something was different, when i checked the msi afterburner for temps i saw that surprisingly my temps decreased by 15 c (!). and after playing battlefield for a while i could'nt notice any fps drops or something.
so my main question is:
1. should i be worried that something happend to my gpu?
2.why would the temps go down so much ?

Hi, first try to update vga and mobo and check the power connection of them

by update do you mean bios ?
