I've read the R9 290 runs very hot and loud (I'm not going to OC). Will I be ok with this case in this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/f7mtzy Is the Sapphire Radeon version of this card decent? I do not want to have to buy aftermarket coolers. If the 290 will be a problem, what would you recommend for around the same price-range and performance? Or should I just get the GTX 970, or some other GPU? If so what would you recommend? I really don't want to spend that much, though.

Yes, that is the one I have selected. Are you saying everything people say about it is false, and it isn't hot and noisy?

No, everything you heard is correct. I have that same card. The fan noise doesn't bother me, but the card gets hot when gaming at high settings. When I run the Firstrike benchmark for instance, the GPU reaches 93C and the fan is at full speed. And that is in a well ventilated case. Reference design cards are like that.

Is my case ventilated enough to handle it? Will heat be a big problem? Would you recommend I get it? Would the strain on the card be bad if I was using a lower resolution in CSGO, like 1024x768?

The case will be fine for that card. If you don't mind having a small oven in your room, it will be OK. The GTX 970 would be cooler, run faster, and use less watts if you can save up some more for it. The best price I've seen is ~$300.

I would never recommend to anyone to lower resolution and settings. If you do that, you might as well get a lower performance card and save some money.
