R9 290 crossfire

Hello everybody. Just curious. Can I crossfire ASUS R9 290 Direct Cu II? Got MB GA-990FXA-UD3. CPU FX6350.

Yes you can crossfire another R9 290 on that motherboard assuming you have an adequate power supply.

You're bottlenecking that single 290 with the FX6350 unless it's overclocked. An overclocked 8xxx series CPU would help that. And as said above you will need adequate power. 1000 watts is recommended. If you're not overclocking a quality 850w unit would probably suffice.

I have 650Watt PSU, do not feel like bottlenecking honestly to say... I consider upgrade of PSU once I get another card. Now I invested in better case with better airflow and cooling Evolve F125(got really bad case atm some eurocase something, the card almost did not fit in). Planning upgrade of CPU or movin to Intel but not anytime soon. Had GTX960 and the perfomance is really much better with the R9 290 honestly to say.

If you plan to play 1080p with two of those cards you will notice quite a bit of bottleneck but if you game on higher resolutions it should be fine.

Then there isn't much to worry about, also another thing is you need to upgrade your power supply to at least 850w.

Rly is it necessary? I do not experience any glitches. But ok next month when salary comes.
