Hi,
I have been using my R9 290 for a while now and I have a question, what the optimal fan curve in msi afterburner for the stock R9 290?
I can't keep my GPU on auto because when I am playing games my GPU's fan speed doesn't go above 20% and goes to around 95C and then black screens.
My idle temp is 45-50C with GPU fan speed at 20%(auto).
Thanks in advance.

how would I do that? Can you either link a thread explaining how to , a video, or you explaining how.
Thanks for the help.

I'm not using the Crimson drive, I'm using the version before it. Should I update and then update the thing you posted?

With this thing, when my GPU temp is 50C then it would be at 20% if my GPU temp goes up to lets say 80C would it auto adjust or do I have to? and if its at 80C what would I set my GPU fan speed to?

Yeah so if you set the two points at them speeds and temps, everything in between will increase based on the temp.

Kind of like this, but you can set point inbetween if you want to refine it

Ok, thanks, so i I make my fan curve and lets say my GPU temp is at 70C and the GPU fan speed is at what its suppose to be at but the temp is still growing should I set another point so it doesn't increase like that?

Unless you really want the video options that the CCC offers, the Crimson Driver is superior. You can always try it.

I heard that there was many problems with The Crimson edition for the R9 290.
Did they fix those already?

I set mine to this:

should I make it a less steep by adding more points?
With this config I have GPU temp at 42C with 20% fan speed on just browsing the internet.

I'm not aware of any large issues other than the fan speed bug. If you play CS:Go you have to turn of shader cache in the Radeon settings, but other than that, they should work fine.

If you're unsure, create a system restore point before installing.
