Okay there is 100$ price difference between r9 290 and r9 290x and i am only able to afford r9 290 the performance gap between these two is not a problem to me i will be satisfied with r9 290 but the main problem is support when I google r9 290 i cant see a single article of it i saw only r9 290x i realize that r9 290 is not that popular as compared to the x version and i also saw that there are less driver updates for non x version like assassin creed unity r9 280 did not had omega driver but the x version had it so what do you think the samr will happen with r9 290?? Please do not laugh at this.I am new to this stuff.
P.S-Do not mention gtx 970 as answer it is a humble request!!!!!!

That's not entirely true the 290 is also very popular especially after its price drop here's one review http://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/12/10/xfx_radeon_r9_290_double_dissipation_edition_review/#.VOm9Bi6QBHA . And about the drivers the 290 receives whatever the 290x receives because they are almost the same, with the difference lying in only the number of cores. If you can pick up an r9 290 with a good cooler you can overclock it to a similar performance to a 290x and in my opinion not worth the extra 100$.
