Simple as that. Due to famous "wrong marketing" from Nvidia I have this option. I would like to keep my gtx970 but I want other opinions for 1080p gaming. I would have extra 60$ for 4gb ram to add in my PC.

No other options, either stay with 970 or switch to that particular gpu ?

Stay, the two gpus are very close, with the 970 being slightly better.

For 1080p gaming stay with that. The biggest advantage the R9 is going to have is really when it comes to 4k, and you don't see that in your near future so the GTX 970 is best

i'd switch due to principle alone. they did a bait and switch, they shouldn't be rewarded with your continued business. but that's just my principles speaking...

looking at your situation objectively... both gpus are massive overkill for 1080p gaming. and it's highly unlikely your 970 with it's misleading specs will ever be an issue in 1080p, so it's not like you're gaining anything by switching. so it's up to you.
