I think the Sapphire R9 290 is incompatible with my motherboard. I have RMA'd twice and the problem continues. I have tested my hard drives, my ram and my psu. There is nothing wrong with them because everything works fine with my HD6850 in. I use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the drivers then I install the R9 290 turn on the pc and install the drivers, after restart my pc just freezes for 1 second then black screens and beeps and restarts. No BSOD but it gives me an error after it restarts. ntoskrnl.exe+4adb3c. My motherboard is an Asus M5A78L-M/USB3, I have no idea what else the problem could be so it must be the motherboard. I don't just have a spare motherboard lying around to test it but if someone could reassure me that it probably is the motherboard then I will buy a new one.

Well in that case it might just be your motherboard. Just to be sure, can you try it with some other PSU?

Well that's pretty definitive then, you should get a new motherboard. Would you like some suggestions? If so, what is your budget for the board?
