Question R9 290 Reference Card Cooling

So I acquired myself a "new" XFX R9 290 Blower Style card. And I have to torture the poor little fan to keep it cool under mid-high load. And by torture, I mean that this thing sounds like its about to leave orbit. Does anyone know of any replacement coolers that would fit? Or maybe something other than spinning the fan to high hell and having to leave my side panel off? I have replaced the thermal paste, and applied K5 Pro to the VRMs. But that dye temp is a hot beast with stock fan curves.

Did you inspect the cooling fins for any dirt or debris build up? Often times that impedes the cooling capability of a blower style card.

Arctic, Alpenfohn and Thermalright used to make GPU coolers but they're discontinued now.

I did. I do keep my PC clean to the best of my abilities. And I've seen those! Just wish I could source one. But alas. No luck. I'd love to give the Artic (Freeze?) III, a go. Saw a lot of good things about it. Almost want to see if a cooler off an XFX R9 390 will fit. Got a 390 that arrived DOA from eBay.
