R9 290 SLI or GTX 780Ti?

I'm building an editing workstation. Which is better?

The 290 XFire (SLI is for nVidia) will perform better but need a bigger (1000W) power supply than one gx780ti (600W).

Either it seems to me is overkill for editing.
Those two setups are for fast action gaming.
If your editing app can use CUDA, then a midrange nvidia card like a GTX750 should do the job.

If your use is for gaming, you will win fps benchmarks with dual R9-290, but you will have a better/smoother experience with GTX780ti.

I'd go the 780TI, editing and rendering like fast GPUs, but haven't really see anybody going XFire

I've got gtx 670 sli on my pc for use with PowerDirector - 'hardware acceleration'. Apparently works with Xfire and SLI

I would recommend the 780 Ti since not all games are good optimised for SLI and Crossfire .

For editing, the key element is having a good cpu.

Next - lots of fast ram.

Then a good gpu.
