R9 290 vs Nvidia 970 vs RX 480 4gb

Which GPU will be best for gaming in DX 12? I am looking to play many open world style multiplayer games (Rust, Ark,) and various other games. What do you guys think?

The R9 290 and 970 are both refurbished btw, and if you want to mention anyother GPUS, ask away! Keep in the price range of $150-250 please.

The 480 should perform better (albeit slightly) than the other two cards. And its new.

As said, the 480 is the best option. Same or a little better performance but uses less power and going forward, it should get better as more games support DX12 and Vulcan. AMD GPU's do much better than nVidia's in DX12 and Vulcan...so far.
