i'M thinking about buying second hand r9 290.there is too option,
first: it is cheaper but it is sapphire r9 290 reference card.so airflow is low,
second:40dolar expensive,but asus model.

which one should i pick?money is kinda issue but i can give more money if temperature is really a problem.

Solution
It is possible you could get the Asus card to fit, 2mm is not much of a difference but I do not know for CERTAIN that you could get the Asus to fit, and if it will not fit you'll be stuck with a card that is useless to you, so I'll advise that you do not purchase the Asus card.

High temperatures can damage the graphics card but the R9 290 reference was designed to run at 95C.
Yes, you can use Afterburner to run the fan faster but it will be very noisy.

it is miniitx case,Thermaltake core v1,and the single fan place too far, like i dunno how to explain this but lets give it a try.
there's a mesh near the case so air flows there.but in reference card there is one fan and it is away from this mash.again for example
X is mesh and - is solid 0 is card fan
case is
--xxxxxxxxx----
and reference card is
-xxxxxxxxx00-
will be air flow sufficient enough?

Just checked out a review of that case, it's got a massive 200mm fan in the front and wide mesh panels all around it so it looks as if the reference card will be able to pull cool air in through the mesh side panel as well as getting some air from the main front fan.
BUT, the R9 290 produces a LOT of heat and, as I said, the reference cooler is a very poor cooler, I really think you should look for a graphics card with lower heat output or purchase the more expensive Asus card.

but will it fit to my case? thermaltake says that case supports up to 285mm asus r9 290 dcu2 is 287mm,
and reference card.does heat damage the card?i can use msi afterburner with %90 or %%100 fan speed and delay heating as far as possible?
