So, bought a new rig a couple of weeks ago, and set everything up last night. Set everything up right, and even had my friend (much more experience on computers then I) check it out and it's defiantly set up correctly. But It won't display on monitor. Check HDMI cables on known rigs that work, and DVI cables and they are fine, and so is the monitor.
My build is:
ASUS R9 290
ASUS M5A97 motherboard
AMD FX-4300 Vishera 3.8 quad core
750 watt power supply EVGA ATX12V
AMD Radeon R9 gamer series 8GB (2x4)
I really can't figure it out. and neither can my friend.

Note: keep in mind this is a first time set up, so I don't have anything downloaded on it really. I did ram check and motherboard checks. Everything getting power. From what we can tell we also have it set up right.

Solution
I'm asking because on the ASUS site the latest listed version for your board is 1605.

However, test with a case speaker, as suggested and see if you get 1 long 2 short beeps when starting the board with no RAMs installed.
Hello, I would recommend the following things:

Use another PCI-E Slot of the mainboard and try it up again.
Also you should plug in a speaker or something, as i read in another thread it might be an error and your mainboard can give you the code with beeps of the speakers.

Can you say what exactly you see? As you said you did ram and motherboard checks, how so? Did you saw something there on the monitor for doing these checks?

The motherboard has blinking light checks for the ram . My friend did the motherboard check. Not sure how. but i will try the speaker.

think the numbers are different because it is refurbished maybe? but alright. checked using the different PCI slot. and no new development going to check the ram now
