Okay, so I recently bought a lightly used Sapphire radeon r9 290x graphics card on Ebay, and it's been fine for a while, but only after I think I took it out of the case to clean, and started a match of CS:GO, I noticed I was getting like 30fps, so I was wondering what in the world was going on, because it usually gets like 300fps maxed out. I just lived with it until 5 minutes later I crashed. I opened up the case while it was running, and noticed that the fan wasn't spinning. This is the stock card, or very similar to the stock card and it has the blower style fan. I would switch PCI slots, but my junky motherboard's other one broke. I tried it in a different computer, and it still wouldn't spin, so now I'm stuck with my old 570GT. I tried looking, but I can't find a replacement fan on Ebay anywhere, and can't use the card for gaming without a fan. I did not try to take the card apart yet, so I might try that later. I just hope it's not expensive.

Well, I would take the shoud off, to make sure there isn't an obstruction stopping the fan from moving, and then if need be, buy and aftermarket cooler from a company like "Arctic" or if you want, and willing to take a small risk but this doesn't cost a whole lot, buy a cheap fan, and plug it into a molex or motherboard header, so that you use the existing heatsink but a different fan. If you plan to go with option two, make sure to monitor temps with a fan control program like "speedfan" or MSI afterburner.

I know this is an old post, but the fan header broke. I installed a Arctic accelero III, but after finding out it wouldn't fit in my case, I sold it and bought a 970. Now I'm having low FPS and utilization issues. Oh, a PC gamer's life is never stress free. 😉

I think you need to configure RivaTuner, and or get task manager running in the background, or drag it to your other monitor if you have one.
