I have a gaming PC that I purchased in November. It was running well at first, but it now won't play hardly any game over 30 fps. I have a 1440p monitor, but even when I change the resolution in-games to 720p, the fps barely change. I also scored an 8100 on the 3D Mark Firestrike, if that helps. Please help, thanks.

It's CPU related like stated above.

That CPU with the 290's is a horrible pairing.

PSU isn't helping I'm sure.

Thanks for the reply! It may be the CPU. I scanned for malware with two different programs and picked up nothing.

Thanks for the reply! It may be the PSU, and I have heard bad things about the two together. Should've gone with intel I think :/

I just don't understand how a CPU can make this much of a difference. Check the difference between a user's score and my score (mine's the top link).

That's a BIG difference. Let me know what y'all think, i'm not too tech savvy so any information will be helpful.

Thanks for the reply! I apologize that I'm not very tech savvy, but I'll try my best to do as you ask. My average core usage in-game is about 35%.
GPU in-game: 100% usage, 50 C.

My 1080p rig has a 6300 with a 290 and have no problems at 1080p let alone 720p, I even run VSR at 3200x1800 in some games. Is it every game you play that you are having problems with, or is it just a specific game?

Of course the i7 is going to get higher scores it costs about twice as much as the 8350, and the i7 is also oc'ed much higher than you have your 8350 oc'ed to.

below 30fps on cod aw, bf4, all mass effects, and dragon age inquisition. And just recently, on bf4, i changed the resolution to 720p, and the graphics to low, and I barely achieved an average of 55 fps.

You are right, but I have lowered the resolution in-game to 720p (on multiple games) and I still get very low fps. Even on the lowest graphics settings, I still have low fps. I'm dumbfounded by it all.

Uninstalled and re-updated my drivers, still no solution.
