R9 290x or GTX 970

Hello guys, actually i have a MSI GTX 970, but one of my friends gave his ASUS Matrix Platinum R9 290x to me, and i'm not sure if is a good idea change to the 290x or still with the 970, what u think guys?

You'd be getting a very slight bump in performance with the 290X. But at the cost of more power draw and more heat. Lots more heat.

Thanks for ur answer, i bought an MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, this thing performs A LOT of better than my old gtx 970, and of course, drain less power than the r9 290x and the 970
