Hi All

My Setup
MB = Gigabyte UHD3-USP
GPU = Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290X
OS = Windors 10 pro
4K UHDTV

My problem is when I set my resolution to 4096 x 2160 pixels it cuts off the top and bottom of the screen.

Usually in AMD CCC (I have the latest Crimson Edition just downloaded today, same with fresh install of OS and drivers) there's an option to overscan but it's not there.

However if I enable GPU scaling it goes full screen but the resolution setting can only go to a maximum of 1920 by 1080.

I have also tried all aspect ratio setting on both my TV and in CCC

Your advice would be gratefully appreciated thank you.

John

your tv might not be true 4k

try 3840 × 2160

tried 3840 x 2160 , still not using the whole of my screen in fact it makes it smaller on the edges to, unless I choose full panel in scaling mode but still not filled at the top or bottom of the screen

the resolution works fine at 4096 x 2160 it just need to be over scanned a bit but the option is not in the crimson edition ccc , have they removed it does anyone know , if so I could revert back to an older driver that supports it

yes that's the one , and yeah when in 4096 x 2160 the max hz is 30 a can choose, ccc says maximum reported hz is 75 , but I cannot change the hz in ccc thers no option , I can only change the hz in display adapter properties the monitor tab , but its showing as generic PnP Monitor where as ccc shows my display as 48UHD_LCD_TV

if I use a hdmi to DP cable will this solve my problem?

or could it be than I might not be using a hdmi 2.0 cable as I don't know what type it is?

Happened to my HDTV too, I changed picture mode to cinema via TV remote and it was okay. Try it :)

ahh well tried everything but the only option for full screen is turn on gpu scaling but restricted to 1920 x 1080 , strange as the card I had before was olnly a hd 7850 and that went in a resolution with something like 2040 x 1440 or summit
