R9 290x vs r9 290
From what i can see the r9 290x is hardly better then the r9 290. But could that change with drivers?
I was looking to crossfire r9 290's and return my 290x would have to pay 15% restocking fee. Is it worth it or should i just buy anther r9 290x is a few months?

Also for crossfire would i want the none refernce designs or for crossfire the reference designe is better?

My monitor is 2560x1440p Asus
Bueld
4770k
1050 watt corsair psu
Corsair 8gb 1600 ram
Rosewill Ultra Black Hawk Gaming tower

Asus Maximus Formula z87
and i put 6 120mm fans 2000rpm on the side panel of the case to cool

Solution
Since you already have a R9-290x and with that restocking fee, I would just keep it. wait and see what happens in a few months, though I think one should be enough to handle anything at 1440p
If you already paid for it, why change now?

About your fans, 6 might not help, especially on the side panel. The card is has a blower style cooler that intake air from one side and exhaust it outside your case. A proper intake that pushes fresh air to the graphics card is better. Additionally, even with the usual open coolers, all those fans can create a lot of turbulence that can reduce the cooling efficiency.

I don't have a personal experience with that, but 6 fans do seem excessive.

i have an h80i cooler on my cpu.

I have 6 fans on the side panel the h80i mounted on the rear the case comes with 4 fans in the front 2 infront of the hard drive and anther 2 behind and 2 230mm fans on top and i aslo mounted anther fan on the other side panel to cool the back of the motherboard. Belive it or not my temps for my 4770k while playing battlefield 4is 34c and i have my r9 290x set to max fan speed 100 with temp target set to 80c and the temps are mostly 73c with a fan speed of 44%. My h80i makes more nioce the gpu

Theres only one thing that is worring me. When i start windows up or when i shut down the pc. I get fast moving shadow lines like only for like 2 seconds. I tried reinstalling the drive and all that. And every once in a while when i start the pc up i have to manualy turn on the monitor and when i do thats when this thing is popped up in windows home screen that my resualion or refresh rate is to hight. Check diplay port connection something like that ad i just click okay
