First, I don't want to hear stuff like there is better cards. Or how it's not worth it because it consumes lots of power. I just want to know how does it perform in this year with current driver support. And how does it run current games, because there is so little information about the card. Yeah there is video sand articles from 2014 . But since then has alot happened, drivers gotten better and maybe AMD Finewine has added some optimazation.

I'm running two r9 290's in crossfire with overclocks, which is similar in specs to a 295x2, but Im not sure if there is some differences in performance between them. Usually the r9 295 is better cooled and slightly better performing, and Im not sure on the difference crossfire side.

Although at 4k running AAA games such as battlefield it still works pretty well 😉 BF4 runs at ~60fps at 4k, BF1 is similar. as for newer battlefields I expect a trend to continue. When the game releases it's usually very bad with crossfire, stuttering and mediocre performance. After a few months it is slowly fixed. So when crossfire does work it works amazingly and support is good.

As for other games, if it doesnt support crossfire very well then it's...

As for other games, if it doesnt support crossfire very well then it's kind of dead in the water at 4k. So you'll have to drop it down to 1080p on one card 🙁
Also to note 290x's and in turn the 295 only has 4gb's of Vram. So when you're playing a game like fallout 4 with a heap of texture mods you are going to bog down. Regardless of raw processing power.

So sorry to say at this point, for games that use alot of vram or no crossfire you're better off with a gtx 1080. Even Im looking at upgrading 😉 For more I would say general games even one 290 is sufficient.
