What would be a better buy for me. I can get a radeon R9 380 2GB OC for 115 gbp or a Gigabyte GTX 970 with free game for 210 gbp. I could also sell the free game. I originally planned a budget of 100 gbp but if the wiser choice l is at 200 gbp I would go to that if needs be.
I do have a backlog of games to catch up on like skyrim oblivion, infinite, mordor, starcraft 2, civ 5 dark souls. So would it be better to get the 380 although it may struggle on some skyrim mods? Then upgrade when I get a 2k monitor in a few years and that becomes the norm for games?
The thing about the 970 is although it pretty much destroys everything atm 1080p I don't think it would last 6 years because in that time frame 2k will likely become the normal and it will not be good for that? Going by how quick vram is being used. So could I get a better card for 100 gbp in 3 years that would outperform the 970 in 3 years or would the 970 still be better?
