Hello guys, I am a little confused, first let me define my question. I currently have a single R9 380 4GB version installed in my build, it's been running smooth for a year now, games are likely running on Very high preset 1080 with no lags almos 60FPS (no Ultra still). So I decided to upgrade. I have 2 options now in regards with getting better performance

Option 1: Abandon my current R9 380 and replace it with a GTX 1060 6GB, this card costs here around $450 cuz it will be shipped from Amazon or anywhere else. plus taxes and customs and other stuff. of course its a lot cheaper that without shipping.

Option 2: Keep my current R9 380 supporting it with another R9 380 4GB, same Sapphire Nitro version and run them both with crossfire. the price of this card second purchase (like new ) is around $170 only !!

Guys which option worth it? I like the option 2 cuz I feel it would outperform the single 1060! help please.

Yea, would you recommend a power supply? cuz I will need to change my current one, it's only 550W and it wouldn't bear the dual R9 380s.

Which PSU to go for?

Any 600 watt power supply should work.

Crossfire isn't supported in all games, and from what I hear support is only getting worse in new games. Unless you know that most/all of the games you play support crossfire (well), I wouldn't recommend it. Especially because you'd probably have to upgrade your PSU.

Where do you live? $450 for a 1060 is very expensive. How much does an RX 580 cost?

It would cost around $500 here. It's costy cuz it's shipped over hundreds of miles plus taxes and customs ... It's disappointing cuz it's a lot of money, but this card I know it would beat the dual R9s and the 1060 as well ...

It's not max settings, almost max. I mean in some intense games I have to lower my preset to very high and disable some graphic features. To be honest I am not sure whether I should upgrade or not, this is going to cost me a fortune.

Yea, even if I go for the second R9 i'd need a new PSU. not worth it. I'll wait another year probably. Let's see what nvidia or AMD will offer later ... and I agree that not all games do support CF. I am going to stick with my build.
