I have had this build you see below for close to a year now actually maybe a year and I love it the only thing is I dont have a GPU 🙁 that's really the purpose of this thread.

I think I displayed my next purchased pretty much in the order I want to get things done.... I was originally looking into the GTX 970 back when I was finalizing my build but since then the price is still pretty high and this R9 380 came out which seems to be a formidable graphics card, just wanted to get some feedback and see if this is a smart play or something better out there for the price range.

My next purchases: (Just some insight as to what my next purchases are gonna be for my build
*GPU Gigabye R9 380 ($200.00)
*Build my desk with the Ikea Countertop, Alex drawers on each side (Should come out to around $180.00 for everything and it'll be a sweet desk)
*Monitor or Two for gaming and productivity (60htz monitors (light gamer dont think i need any higher, preferably IPS, 1-5ms between 22-24" so I can dual screen any bigger would be too big 😛)

Thanks for reading guys!

The 960's are a respectable card but if you plan on being able to run max graphics settings which i dont think you are because the 380 cant really do that and hold a solid 60 fps either then you would want to spend an extra $100 and get a 970. There is a big performance improvement from the 960 to 970 however the 960 is a great card as well. It just wont max out settings and give you solid 60 fps but with some tinkering of graphics settings (mixture of medium and high on some games) you will get 60 solid. If you dont want to spend the extra $100 for a 970 then the 960 is the card to choose for sure! (right now evga has their Super superclocked 970 for $309 on newegg) Either way the 960 still performs great at its price point and its...

and thanks, just trying to see if anyone posts some other recomendations but thanks for the confirmation :)

Didn't pay 200 dollars for win. I just decided to include it so noone would ask what os I am running 😛

So just curious I was watching a video review and they said something that it doesn't have the connectors up top for the crossfire so I am guessing it can be done straight from the actual motherboard if I decide later down the line to get a 2nd one of these for a boost of graphics?

that's awesome! I dont know if it matters but thought I would ask anyhow I was reading something I dont quite understand... they said in reference to this card actually that is you plan on using Physx? that because this had a AMD chip it's not going to work.... ill do some research but can anyone shed any light on what you need Physx for in the first place and is it needed? required? I'll know more later just thought I would ask see if anyone could shed a little light.

well crap! thankfully I asked the question because just from the first video alone there are elements inside of some of the games which would make the game much better feel better and look better I am definitely not getting a AMD GPU after knowing this....

So it leaves a question... Why in the world hasn't AMD incorporated such a feature of their own? pretty sure it's been asked over the years but you would think they'd want those physx graphics too

Yea man I am a light gamer and all that's why I aint trying to spend coocoo dollars on a GPU but I think right around 200 is a good marker especially for me. Now that I know the about the PhysX I am looking between these 3, all 3 are 4GB and have a nice much higher Mhz clock speed than the 380 but just looking through them for price and performance the EVGA is winning here... I am still new to understanding everything so if im missing something please fill me in :) I might be going with the EVGA unless steered in another direction, going to check on newegg and see if their filters are a little better than amazon and see what I see.

Solution
Much appreciated for everyone helping put their 2cents in :) wish I could select more than one solution but sadly can't.

Yea I am leaning towards the EVGA, I like their brand and right out of the box is better than the Gigabyte models I listed.

I just saw a video from Jayztwocents and he overclocked it a little bit more, me... I dont think ill be doing that but my whole build was built around the potential of overclocking one day should I see fit but when it comes to overclocking I know so little I am afraid ill just fry whatever I am working on haha so yea my intel k chip is still @ it's 3.5ghz and the GPU I get im sure will remain where it is.

Thanks again to everyone!
