I recently bought the asus R9 380 4GB, and when I installed it, I noticed it had an 8 Pin connector (Google Image of it) But my power supply only seems to have a 6 pin connector handy (six pin) The PSU is 500W Thermaltake(Only link I could find for it)
It appears to have a 8 pin and 4 pin, but they are plugged into the mobo and cpu, respectively.
After doing some research, it seems that I can plug 6 pin into 8 pin on some occasions, however there is no documentation on the Asus website.
Is it safe to do this then (plug 6 pin into 8 pin) or will I need extra cables?
I also noticed I have a bunch of 4 pin peripherals unused in there ( the circle ones)

I definitely would not try to run that card with a six pin from the PSU. Honestly I find it funny that an ASUS R9 390 has only one connector. I have a PowerColor R9 380 with two 6 pins for a more stable power delivery system. However I think you should just upgrade your PSU and make sure it has a dedicated 8 pin connector for the PSU. This is the one I'm using and it has 2 8-pin connectors:

Hope that helped :)

Thank you for the advice!
I decided to get this one

It appears to have 6+2 pin connectors on it along with all the ones I currently have, and my case has enough space for it
