so i have an old PC laying around that i haven't been using.. realized that i can.. looked into its specs:
Gigabyte GA-P75-D3
i5 2400
2x4GB Hyperx 1600mhz
Nvidia GT 610
500GB WD blue

now for the current power supply it looks like a cheap one.. can't find anything on it just plain black PSU..

So i want to get either a R9 380 or a GTX 960 for that system.. but not sure how it does with the current CPU.. is it any good? plus will a EVGA 500w 80 plus rated be enough for the system with any of these GPUs? what do you guys think?

Solution
The r9 380's performance is very similar to the GTX 960 . Your CPU will be fine for almost any card out there . The EVGA 500w 80 plus would be good any high quality 500 to 600 watt should be fine . I am currently using a R9 380 so far no problems and is slightly cheaper compared to the GTX 960 .
