If I were to add another 390, would it be possible? By that I mean, how hard would it be to cool it and how much power would I need? Is it even practical?

well evga is known to have solid units

seemed to review well and scored dang high?

thing is if you plan to overclock the cards or anything and hang a load the board down with extra drives and what ever maybe 1000w ?? [ouch 209$$ for the 1000w evga p2?? ouch]

you know looking why not go for the gold and get a 1000w for the same money as the plataun 850 ??

that looks like the better deal and then you got that little bit extra power if or when needed

850w PSU and a crossfire capable mobo. I don't think the 850w PSU is going to be enough, though, so is it worth it for an upgrade?

Thanks a lot, but first can I get an idea if an 850w 80+ platinum PSU is enough?

Solution
you know I will go back to what I said to that other guy and say your better served with one single powerful card and cut all that headache and overhead

like from here with a 390''X'' all that mess for that small gain and all that power use over 1 980ti [and I bet the one tested was a reference card at that]

http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/91/amd-radeon-r9-390x-crossfire-4k/index.html

but that's just me ??

well I did sli once to see for my self but in the end it was not worth it bottom card cooks top card - drivers issues - games not optimized - power demands - dust clean up- so on and so forth

cards back in the good old days were nothing like cards today and one good powerful card can do it all and with out all that overhead and grief ..

not to say don't do it just giving you my experience on it and unless you do it your self to get your own experience and results on how it ended up for you . heck you maybe one to find its the greatest thing ever or find wow what a waste of my time and cash ??

only you can do it and draw your own conclusions [if going for a single 980 ti I recommend the evga hybrid for long lasting and running cooler ] its funny how guys get them air cooled cards and whine about temps and heat and go looking for water blocks when they could of just go a water card out of the box and been done with it for a lot less money.. [just a point to ponder ]

good luck
