Hi im pretty new to this and was planning to get a r9 390 this year and i was wondering if i can setup my gtx 750 ti just for pyhsx. Ive seen on forums people done this with only nvidia cards but i was wondering if you can do r9 390 with gtx 750 ti as dedicated physx.

Thanks in advanced

It will almost certainly require using much older drivers that might not work well with current hardware and games, if at all. If you have your heart set on PhysX, then I'd recommend getting a Nvidia card like a GTX 970 or 980 instead of a 390. You can much more easily keep the 750 Ti for PhysX processing.

Ah ok, to clarify you cant have an amd card and a nvidia card just for the pyhsx? If not i 'll just drop it and forget about physx. Does physx impact the gaming experience enough for me to buy a gtx 970 because i saw a Saphire nitro r9 390 for a lower price the 970 and i heard 390 performs a bit better in some games.

It depends on the person. If you never see it, then you'd never be disappointed in not having it... However, I can't guarantee that you wouldn't like it one you have it if you go for the 970 instead.

I don't go out of my way to get a Nvidia card for it, but if you already have the 750 Ti, then I'd go for the 970 unless you mostly play games that don't utilize PhysX. If you didn't already have the 750 Ti, then it would be a more difficult choice.
