I have randomly been losing video input on my MSi R9 390 Gaming and I cannot figure out why. Usually before it occurs, the AMD drivers will stop responding while I'm playing games and other random crashes will occur. Then the signal to the monitor will just go out while everything is still running, or it won't receive any signal when starting up. If I lose video input then down using the power button, it wont boot again, even though the LEDs on the GPU and the fans remain powered on. The only ways I have found that will get it to boot again after this happens are by manually resetting the BIOS, leaving the power cable to the PC unplugged for quite some time, and then connecting it again, or by connecting the display cable to the motherboard instead. Even if I manage to successfully boot again with the display cable connected to the GPU, I will eventually lose video input after 3-4 minutes.. If I plug into the motherboard and run off of integrated graphics, the PC runs perfectly fine and I do not lose video input ever. If I re-seat the GPU into the PCIe slot, this will temporarily resolve the problem for a few days or even a week or more. However, it eventually comes back again when I lose video input while using my PC or find that I am unable to boot again. I have done a clean reinstall of the drivers several times, and updated to the latest Crimson software, but this still hasn't fixed it. I also updated my BIOS and made sure all of the settings there were correct. I contacted MSi support and they told me it's most likely either a problem with the PCIe slot on the motherboard or the GPU, but I don't have another one that I can plug in and test to see if its a MB issue. Any advice as to how I can diagnose this issue?
